MUSIC MINISTRY

Music. It surrounds us, it moves us; it has the power to change our mood and emotions, to remind us of fond memories and even has the ability to unite people across cultural, racial and ethnic barriers. Music is an integral part of our life and without it life as we know it would be quite dull.

 

But this is no surprise as from the beginning of the world, 'When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy, ' (Job 38:7) music was here. In the Bible there are numerous instances where the children of God use music to bring praises unto Him such as when Moses and the children of Israel made it out of Egypt (Exodus 15:1-21)

 

In Colossians 3:16-17, Paul instructs the people to teach and admonish one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Today these instructions remain the same for us. The music ministry uses music and the musical talents of our members to serve God. The ministry helps to change and transform worshippers and nonbelievers by providing a way for them to commune and connect with God. Ultimately the goal of the music ministry is to encourage, unite and inspire the church by aiding in their worship so that together we grow closer to God.
